If you are a certified diver, guided fun diving is the simplest way to enjoy Dahab's extraordinary underwater world. You join a small guided group, we handle the equipment, the logistics and the safety, and a guide who knows every site here intimately takes you to exactly the right spots at the right time of day. No course, no pressure — just good diving on some of the most beautiful reefs and formations in the Red Sea, done the relaxed, unhurried way Dahab is famous for.
You could dive some of Dahab's shore sites independently, but a guide who knows them transforms the dive. They know where the turtles feed and the time of day the light is best in the Canyon; they know the route through a site that takes in the most without wasting air; they know the conditions and which entry is easiest today. They also keep the group safe and together, watching everyone, so you can relax and simply enjoy the reef rather than navigating it. For a visiting diver, that local knowledge is the difference between a good dive and a great one, and it is exactly what we exist to provide.
We keep the groups small — a handful of divers to a guide at most — so the guiding is real rather than herding, and we match the site to your experience and the conditions on the day. Diving multiple dives over your stay works out cheaper per dive in a package, and many of our divers spend a whole week with us, ticking off the sites one by one. The sites themselves are described on the dive sites page, the prices on the pricing page, and the safety approach on the safety page.
Joining a guided dive is simple, and it stays relaxed from the moment you arrive.
Bring your certification card and log, and tell us your recent experience. We match you to a dive that suits your level — we will not put a rusty diver straight onto a demanding site, and we will say so kindly if needed.
The guide briefs the site, the plan and the signals, and we run buddy checks. However experienced the group, we never skip this — it is the foundation of a safe, enjoyable dive.
In a small group, the guide leads you through the site at an unhurried pace, showing you what you would never find alone. Most sites are shore entries, so we simply walk in from the beach.
Back on shore we log the dive and debrief, and you decide whether to dive again — a second site, the same one in different light, or a tea and a rest first. The day is yours.
Your certification card and dive log. Everything else — equipment, tanks, weights, the guide — is provided and included. If you have your own kit you are welcome to bring it; if not, we fit you properly with ours.
Yes, just tell us honestly. If it has been a long time, a short refresher in shallow water before the first proper dive rebuilds your confidence and is far safer than pretending the rust away. We would always rather you eased back in.
Largely, yes — tell us the sites you most want and we plan around them and the conditions. We will steer you honestly on what suits your level and what the sea allows on the day, but the wish list is yours. See the sites page.
Tell us your level and the sites you fancy, and we will plan your diving.
